We’ve been very busy here at WMG Publishing. Our Kickstarter project, Fiction River, fully funded in less than 24 hours and is still going strong. (Click here to see its progress). Kristine Grayson’s complete line of romances and urban fantasies is just one book away from completion (until the next new release, of course). We’ll release two new books in the Fey series by Kristine Kathryn Rusch later this month. And Dean Wesley Smith is about to send out the first month’s subscription of his writing challenge.

Whew!

We’re not all work here, of course. Well, at least it doesn’t all feel like work. After all, at least half of what we do here many people do for fun. Reading, for example.

But it’s also just plain a fun place to work.

One of our authors, for example, is a prankster. He has a life-sized cutout of Austin Powers that he likes to move around the offices so that you turn a corner and wham!, there’s Mike Meyers just scaring the bejeezus out of you. (His eyes follow you, I swear.) I have warned him that I’m from Jersey, and one of these days—

But that twinkle in his eyes he gets when he realizes he got you… well, it’s hard not to smile, too. That, and his writing helps pay the bills.

The other day, I arrived at work to find that we’d acquired a three-part movie banner for the latest Men in Black—all 6 feet by 12 feet of it. You gotta love working with sci-fi authors.

Grown-ups aren’t the only ones having a good time here, though. My two-year-old thinks it’s pretty cool, too.

As you can see from this picture, she is very focused on learning her ABCs on Mommy’s eReader while Mommy works on a grown-up book on the computer.

Being surrounded by so much imagination… it’s hard not to have fun.
