I love fall. It’s my favorite season.

Even on the coast of Oregon, where seasons are more abstract concept that experience, there’s something about the back-to-school excitement, the crisp air and the anticipation of the upcoming holiday season that just makes anything seem possible.

This is the time of year (not New Year’s, not the approaching summer) that I tend to make resolutions—and actually see them out.

It’s also the time of year that I start ramping up my reading habits. Granted, I read all the time. Hard not to when you’re a publisher. But there’s something ingrained in me about the back-to-school season that says I should be learning something new or better educating myself for the future.

Fortunately, we have a nonfiction division here at WMG Publishing, Inc. And we have some wonderful books that can help you, whatever your resolution.

They’re part of the Freelancer’s Survival Guide series by Kristine Kathryn Rusch, but most of them offer great advice for anyone looking to improve their skills. Among the short books, there’s How to Make Money (who doesn’t need to read that?), How to Negotiate Anything, Goals and Dreams, The Secrets of Success, How to Turn Setbacks into Opportunity, Networking in Person and Online, and my personal favorite, Time Management (aka, the busy working mom’s bible).

You can also see new books in the works on Kris’s blog, www.kristinekathrynrusch.com.

So, if you, like me, feel the motivation to actually tackle that resolution you made oh so many months ago, check them out. They’re available in ebook or print. Just click on the cover image.

Happy learning!
