I’ve been thinking about birthdays a lot lately. The two people I love the most are Geminis, and I’m in the midst of planning Nola’s 6th birthday. She has plans. Oh, how she has plans. I’ll do my best to accommodate them. A party planner, I am not. But my mom will be here to help. Thank goodness for moms.
Some of my favorite authors are also Geminis. Including one you probably know quite well. At least, you know her fiction quite well.
So, in honor of Kristine Kathryn Rusch’s birthday, I’m giving all of you a gift. It’s one of her stories, a fun little tale about birthdays, and gifts, and…well, it’s appropriately titled “Present.”
Here’s the synopsis:
Mason Evers’ thirtieth birthday depresses him, so his wife Roxy decides to give him a present he will never forget. Only the present malfunctions.
Should Mason and Roxy fix the present? Or should they simply enjoy it?
