This Publisher’s Note marks the fifth year of my weekly blogs. That’s 260 regular blogs. Now, that’s not quite as long as I’ve been at the helm of WMG—the blogs came a bit later—but it reminds me of how much history I have here now.

History is a funny thing. It has a habit of repeating itself.

So, five years into my tenure, we’ve decide to bring back a publication dormant for more than twenty years. The three-time Hugo Award-nominated Pulphouse Fiction Magazine.

Pulphouse adds a different flavor to our magazine line. Fiction River is purely original short fiction and varies in tone by the editor of each volume, but its voice is influenced by the collaborative oversight of series editors Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch. Fiction River Presents is the reprint line for Fiction River that I edit, and is sourced primarily from Fiction River volumes (with an occasional grab from the WMG inventory). Smith’s Monthly is basically whatever Dean wants it to be because it’s all his own fiction. Short stories, novels, nonfiction: It’s all in there.

Dean will also edit Pulphouse, but the tone here will be pure attitude. If you’ve read the original incarnation of the magazine, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, you’re in for a ride.

And if you don’t want to wait very long for that ride to begin, you’re in luck. We’ve just launched a Kickstarter to gain subscriptions for Pulphouse, and you can get in on the ground floor with the Kickstarter exclusive Issue Zero.

There’s tons of great rewards, more information about the magazine, and a really fun video to watch. So, stop reading this blog and head on over to Kickstarter.

I’ll be back next week like clockwork.
